Staging notice

This policy describes GameTreff's current staging configuration. The verified controller identity, address, applicable jurisdiction, service-provider list, and retention schedule must be completed and legally reviewed before launch.

This Privacy Policy explains how GameTreff handles personal information when you visit gametreff.com, contact us, or interact with services that may be introduced on the site.

Who is responsible for the data

The data controller will be the verified legal operator of GameTreff. The operator's legal name, business address, and country of establishment are pending confirmation and must be published before launch.

Privacy inquiries can be sent to contact@gametreff.com. This address must be activated and tested before the site launches.

Information handled in the current version

Technical request and security data: hosting infrastructure may process an IP address, request time, requested URL, browser and device information, referring URL, and security signals needed to deliver and protect the site.
Consent preference: the site stores the value rp-consent in your browser's local storage after you accept or decline non-essential tracking. The current implementation stores this choice on your device rather than in a GameTreff visitor database.
Search terms: a search term is sent to the GameTreff server to return matching articles. GameTreff does not currently create a user profile from search terms, although infrastructure logs may record requested URLs.
Email correspondence: if you contact us, the message, email address, attachments, and any other information you choose to provide may be processed to respond to you and maintain an appropriate record.

GameTreff's D1 content database currently stores editorial content, authors, categories, games, tags, and article metadata. It is not designed as a visitor-account or marketing-profile database.

Services that are not active yet

Google Tag Manager is present only as a conditional integration and is disabled while its identifier remains a placeholder. Active analytics, personalized advertising, advertising cookies, affiliate tracking links, visitor accounts, and a working newsletter subscription service have not yet been configured.

Before any of these services is activated, this policy and the Cookie Policy must be updated with the provider, purposes, data categories, legal basis, retention, recipients, transfers, and applicable user controls.

Why information may be processed

To deliver requested pages and search results.
To secure the site, identify abuse, and maintain technical reliability.
To remember the consent choice stored on your device.
To respond to messages, correction requests, business inquiries, and privacy requests.
To comply with applicable legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims where necessary.

Legal bases where the GDPR applies

Legitimate interests: delivering and securing the site, preventing abuse, and responding to ordinary correspondence, balanced against the individual's rights.
Consent: non-essential storage, analytics, or advertising technologies where valid consent is required. Consent may be withdrawn.
Legal obligation: processing required to comply with applicable law.
Contract or pre-contractual steps: only where a person asks GameTreff to take steps related to an actual agreement.

Providers and recipients

Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery, security, and related infrastructure for the planned production site. Cloudflare may process request and security data under its applicable terms and privacy documentation.

Email messages will also be processed by the email provider selected for contact@gametreff.com. That provider must be added here before the address becomes operational. GameTreff does not currently claim to sell personal information.

International transfers

Infrastructure or future service providers may process information outside the visitor's country. Before launch, GameTreff must identify the controller's jurisdiction and confirm the transfer mechanisms and safeguards applicable to each production provider.

Retention

Technical logs and security events should be retained only for the periods configured with the hosting provider and needed for security, troubleshooting, and legal obligations. Correspondence should be deleted or anonymized when it is no longer reasonably needed, subject to legal recordkeeping and claim-related requirements.

The current consent preference remains in browser local storage until it is changed, cleared through the site's controls, or removed through browser storage settings. Exact production retention periods must be documented before launch.

Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or information about the use and disclosure of personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent and complain to an appropriate supervisory or regulatory authority.

California residents may have rights under the CCPA if GameTreff falls within that law's scope, including rights concerning access, deletion, correction, sale or sharing, and non-discrimination. GameTreff does not currently claim that it meets the CCPA's business applicability thresholds, and the production data practices must be reassessed before advertising is enabled.

To submit a request, email contact@gametreff.com. We may request limited information necessary to verify and process the request, but you should not send identity documents unless specifically required through a secure method.

Children's privacy

GameTreff is a general-audience gaming publication and is not intended to collect personal information from children under 13. The current site does not offer visitor accounts or knowingly request a child's age, name, or contact details. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so the issue can be reviewed.

Security

Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards should be used to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Do not send passwords, payment details, government identifiers, or sensitive account information to GameTreff.

Changes to this policy

This policy will be updated when the legal operator or production services are confirmed, and whenever the site's handling of personal information changes materially. The date above identifies the latest revision.
