Star Trek Fleet Command has official Windows and macOS clients. The clean route starts at Scopely's STFC website, not a download mirror or an ad that happens to use the game's logo.
If you already play on mobile, protect that progress before touching the desktop installer. A five-minute account check is easier than trying to identify the correct profile after a reinstall.
Check the current operating-system requirement
Scopely's help center lists these desktop software recommendations after the game's move to Unity 6:
- Windows x64: Windows 10 version 21H1, build 19043, or newer
- Windows Arm64: Windows 11 version 21H2, build 22000, or newer
- Mac: macOS Big Sur 11 or newer
These are Scopely's current OS recommendations, not a full CPU, GPU, memory, or frame-rate benchmark. We have not found a complete current desktop hardware table from Scopely that supports making broader performance promises.
If the client refuses to log in after an engine update, check the Windows build or macOS version before reinstalling anything.
Existing mobile player: link the account first
Open STFC on the device where your progress is already visible:
- Open the player profile.
- Go to Settings.
- Open General.
- Confirm that a Scopely Account is linked to the game profile.
- Make sure you can access the email address attached to that account.
Scopely began moving its account system toward passwordless login in 2026. A verification code may be sent to the linked email, so access to that inbox matters more than remembering an old password.
Install on Windows
- Open the Star Trek Fleet Command PC play page.
- Select the Windows download.
- Open the downloaded installer and confirm that it came from the route you just followed.
- Finish the installation and launch STFC.
- Choose the Scopely Account sign-in option.
- Use the account linked to your existing game profile.
- Confirm that the expected player name, server, and progress appear before making purchases or starting over.
A completely new player can install first, finish the tutorial, and then save the new profile from Settings > General by connecting a Scopely Account.
Install on Mac
The Mac route starts from the same Star Trek Fleet Command PC play page:
- Select the macOS download.
- Install the app in the Applications folder. Scopely specifically calls out this location for Mac users.
- Launch the game and sign in with the linked Scopely Account.
- Check that the correct progress loads.
If macOS blocks the app, do not disable security across the whole system. Confirm that you used Scopely's download route, review the warning carefully, and use the normal macOS privacy and security controls for that specific app.
If the wrong or empty account appears
Stop before playing through the tutorial again or buying anything. Check:
- Whether you used the email attached to the original Scopely Account
- Whether the verification code went to a different inbox
- Whether the original mobile profile still shows the account as linked under Settings > General
- Whether you accidentally created a second Scopely Account
If the correct account still will not load, contact Scopely Support with the player ID and server information visible on the original device. Do not send GameTreff or another player your login code.
If the desktop client will not launch
Work from the least destructive check to the most disruptive:
- Confirm that the operating system meets the versions listed above.
- Install pending system updates and restart the computer.
- Check Scopely's Known Issues section for a current outage or client problem.
- Record the exact error, when it appears, and the client version if visible.
- Send Scopely a bug report with a clear description and screenshots or video where useful.
- Reinstall only after the account is linked and simpler checks have failed.
Scopely's own reinstall guidance calls reinstalling a last resort and tells players to link their progress first. Do not delete account data or use an unofficial “fixed” launcher to get around an error.
What this guide does not claim
We have not completed enough controlled Windows and Mac testing to recommend graphics settings, quote a reliable download size, or promise a frame rate for particular hardware. Those results need a named client build, driver, resolution, and repeatable test scene.
After your account is secure, start with the early missions and decide whether the strategy loop fits you.
